Our Mission is to provide the finest, highest quality, handmade herbal products made with positive intent to pamper, soothe, relax, and comfort the whole self.

We use only the finest, purest ingredients to be found. We never test our products on animals, and there are no animal by-products in any of our items, with the exception of dried milks, organic honey and beeswax.

Although most of our products are organic, we use both organic and non -organic herbs and oil ingredients in our products. Item descriptions will tell you if the product is organic or not. We use Aura Cacia® and NOW® brand essential and carrier oils, and our organic herbs come from certified organic herb farms. Our organic honey & butters come from GloryBee® Foods, Inc. We have found that these products represent the highest quality available- so you know you're getting the best!

Please remember that our products are all handmade, so there may be the very slightest variation in texture, pattern, or scent. Most of our items will be made when they are ordered, therefore guaranteeing their freshness. All orders will ship within three business days of receipt of order and payment.

The difference between Organic and Non-Organic:

Non- organic refers to plant material that has been grown with or without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Plants, herbs, and oils that are derived from plants may still be considered 100% natural or 100% pure if no pesticides or chemicals have been used in their growth or obtaining processes. With organic and certified organics, it may be proven that no pesticides, fertilizers or chemicals were used in the growth and care-taking of the plant materials or in the processes used to derive oils. It is much more expensive to take the care of making sure that the processes of growth and acquisition are considered organic and can be certified. It takes about 5-7 years for a farm to become certified organic. It is much easier and cheaper to use chemicals and harsh fertilizers to make plants grow faster. However, the integrity of the plants are compromised. That is why this company only uses plants and plant derivatives that are 100% pure or natural and organic & certified organic. We have done a lot of research to find the best ingredients to use in our products from companies that hold the same high standards as we do.

There is also a huge difference in the quality of the oils we use to scent our products. We refuse to use any synthetic fragrances or "fragrance oils" in the products we make. The reason is simple. Although fragrance oils do smell wonderful, are cheaper, easy to find, and there are a wide range available, the simple fact is is that they are not plant based and they contain chemicals that can actually kill you. Most of the lotions, air fresheners, and perfumes that you purchase in stores contain these harmful ingredients. We don't know about you, but we don't want to put that on our skin, soak in it, or breath it for that matter. This being the case, we use only pure, unadulterated essential oils in our products. Essential oils are the very essence of the plant it is taken from. These oils are aromatherapy grade and/or certified organic. Also, for this reason, we have removed the potpourries for now because they were made with fragrance oil.We just cannot in good conscience allow ourselves to make these kinds of products available to the public. As for the carrier oils used in massage oils and lotions,we only use cold-processed or expeller pressed. This means that no heat (or very small amounts of heat), nor chemicals were used to obtain the oils from the plant. This is very important, because chemicals and high temperatures can strip the nutrients right out of the plants and oils which totally defeats the purpose for their use. We would never ask someone to use a product that we would not use ourselves. This is the standard of high quality that we hold the products we use and sell to.

Scents of Spirit was founded in 2004.

The company is woman-owned, home-based endeavor made up of two friends that

are dedicated to helping people relax and feel good.

Scents of Spirit evolved out of our personal drive to help people in a unique way. We wanted to make people feel better emotionally and physically without the need for doctors and medications.We feel that the world has been taken over by unhealthy traditions and chemical solutions, and it is time for us to step away from all of that and go back to naturalistic ways. This view, our love for plants and nature, and our need to be creative, set us into motion and Scents of Spirit was born.

When we were trying to come up with a name for my new business, we wanted to find something that would say in just a few words what the business was all about.I thought really hard about all of the aspects of the business and what goes into it; from what ingredients go into the products, to time spent on making the products & selling them. What we came up with is this: energy and the spirit of what they are trying to accomplish, which is help people in a certain way. We thought about the kind of people that would be purchasing items and how they wanted them to feel when they used them. We thought about the spirit of people and the spirit within myself. We believe that each one of us has a certain spirit, the kind that makes one a good, caring person. We want people to feel my good spirit within the products they purchase. A sense of spirit. Taking it one step further was easy, being as everything offered has has a certain smell. The variety of scents is vast, but we only wanted to use pure essences of plants and plant based ingredients.

Alot of research went into this project, and we have learned a great deal about the personal care business.We found that almost all of the bodycare products available in regular and department stores are loaded with impure, chemical ingredients.We had had no idea that body care products could be so dangerous, and felt that surely the majority of the population had no clue either. That is where

our commitment to purity and integrity comes from. We refuse to make products with synthetic fragrances and chemical preservatives. Only the finest, highest quality ingredients go into the products at Scents of Spirit.

Along with precious herbs and oils, we put positive energy into everything we make. We hope that my feelings of love for humanity and my positive energy reaches each person who uses one of my products. We care deeply about people and their need to be positive and relaxed. Too many of us have a need for relaxation or even just a few moments to ourselves. In this day and age, it is extremely difficult to let our minds & bodies rest. We hope that their little bit of help through Scents of Spirit products will make someone's life a little better- if only for a moment.

a Certified Magical Herbalist. She is an all-around creative person with many ideas that are based on nature, herbs, and spiritualism. Jessie enjoys creating new and unique recipes for Scents of Spirit's mind & body care products.

Sarah is a very creative person who lends a sensitive and unique flair to our products and marketing. Sarah has been a part of Scents of Spirit since 2008. Her experience as an LPN lends itself to the understanding of personal care needs.
